According to him, nation-building is impossible without leadership continuity, and a vision without succession eventually dies.
The REC said INEC was fully aware of its duty to conduct a free and fair election and had put proactive measures in place to actualise this.
The convener, Adeola Alakija-Awogbemi, made the call in an interview on Sunday in Abuja while reacting to the declaration.

The group sought citizens’ support for peace and stability in the country.

“The SSS must do its job and refrain from falling for cheap blackmail as they strive to ensure national security,” he added.
“We will not fail to raise red flags when your government decides to abandon governance.”
The conveners said the town hall was designed for the electorate to interrogate the competence of the leading governorship candidates.
Mr Osodeke, however, said this could only be achieved if concrete agreements were reached with the federal government.
