He expressed gratitude to Mr Tinubu, the minister of interior, the CDCFIB and the leadership of the service for the morale-boosting promotion.
The board asked applicants to check the board’s recruitment portal, recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng, from December 1 to 3, to check if they were shortlisted.
Eight officers were dismissed for “serious misconduct and violation of service regulations”, while five others were compulsorily retired for offences bordering on misconduct.
Mr Umar urged Nigerians to exercise caution and cooperate with security agencies to ensure peaceful demonstrations.
The board noted that shortlisted candidates would be contacted soon with further instructions.
The NCoS spokesperson stated that the Board exonerated 16 personnel found not guilty of the allegations made against them.
Among the newly promoted officers are 27 general duty officers.
The board reiterated that its recruitment process was free as it remained committed to ensuring a fair and transparent process.
The online recruitment exercise was initially scheduled to commence on July 2, but it was later moved to July 14.
He said the facility is a place where inmates would be transformed into productive citizens.
