The suspended lecturer stated this while being led in evidence as the first defence witness (DW-1) by his lawyer, Joe Agi.
“The name Joe Odey Agi, SAN, is not on the roll of legal practitioners in Nigeria. What exists on the roll is Agi Joseph Odey, year of call, 1985,” court heard.
Mr Agi sought an order striking out the amended charge in the case.
On March 6, the judge dismissed Messrs Ndifon and Anyanwu’s no-case submission.
The judge adjourned the matter until February 27 to hear the defendants’ no-case submission.
Delivering his ruling on Mr Ndifon’s bail application, Justice Omotosho admitted him to a N250 million bail with two sureties.
The judge said justice would be done to the parties.
The adjournment did not go well with Solomon Umoh, SAN, who appeared for Mr Ndifon and Sunny Anyanwu, the co-defendant.
“I will release him to you as a SAN and attach a little condition.’’
“I urge the ICPC to, as a matter of urgency, arraign the former dean of the faculty of law at the University of Calabar.”
