Mr Ishaq urged them to go back to their various communities and be law-abiding.
Mr Onoja added that anti-drug operations resulted in the arrest of several suspects and recovery of illicit substances.
Mr Onoja reaffirmed the military’s commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorists and criminal elements.
The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, targeted troops of the 25 Task Force Brigade.
Mr Shettima commended the soldiers’ heroism, adding that “their sacrifices reminded us of the extraordinary price of peace and security.”
The president commended the armed forces for their swift and decisive response, particularly the air component.
In the South-West, he said troops of Operation AWATSE killed three terrorists and arrested 10 violent extremists, as well as recovered a cache of arms and ammunition.
“All recovered items, arrested suspects and rescued hostages were handed over to the relevant authorities for further action,” he added.
The affected LGAs are Maiduguri Metropolitan, Damboa, Gubio, Jere, Konduga, Mafa, Monguno and Ngala.
The suspects, with still unclear motives, were transferred to military custody on Monday, the opposition leader’s office said.
