Both lawmakers claimed they facilitated the rehabilitation of the road.
Ms Ugwu said the call had become important following Saturday’s fuel tanker fire explosion on the Ugwuonyeama section of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway.
Mr Umahi said the ministry had noticed some speed bumps were a menace.
“Nwifuru is humble, and till the end of eight years, I am not leaving him,” Mr Umahi said.
He said that the review would soon be presented to the Federal Executive Council.
Mr Umahi was reacting to a question about concerns raised by some commuters about the number of tolls on the newly delivered expressway.
Mr Umahi emphasised that some projects, ongoing for 17-20 years, cannot be completed overnight.
According to him, the situation has temporarily affected socio-economic activities in the state.
The federal government has assured that the ongoing construction of the first 47 kilometres of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will be ready by May 2025
