The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party says it is not unaware of the conduct of any state congress election of the party in Cross River recently.
Mr Ologunagba said the committee has yet to set a new deadline, adding that once a date is decided, it will be made public.
The congress was earlier scheduled to hold on Saturday, Sept. 27.
Mr Ologunagba said the NWC’s decision was necessitated by the need for more consultations among the leaders, stakeholders, and members of the PDP.
The People’s Democratic Party has called for a legal framework to enable the electronic transmission of election results from polling units prior to the 2027 general elections.
PDP said the action also comes as part of the antics being deployed several times by the APC-controlled Senate and the federal government to suffocate the opposition.
Mr Ologunagba called on Nigerians not to despair but to continue to show love to one another.
Mr Ologunagba also disclosed that the NEC affirmed Umar Damagum as the substantive national chairman of the party.
“We have read the story by Peoples Gazette on the matter,” Mr Ologunagba said. “It is a big story, and it just broke yesterday…we have to take our time to look into it.”
He said that of serious concern was the persistent public media outbursts against PDP by some prominent members.
