Defence chief Olufemi Oluyede has restated the critical role of physical fitness in enhancing combat readiness and operational effectiveness of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

Several communities in the Kwara North have come under consistent terrorist attacks in recent times.
“Our operations must be guided by professionalism, discipline and integrity. The assets you protect are central to national stability and economic growth,” Mr Oluyede said.
Defence chief Olufemi Oluyede has assured officers and personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria that concrete steps are underway to enhance their salaries and overall welfare.
Mr Oluyede gave the assurance on Thursday when the director-general of NIPSS, Ayo Omotayo, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
Mr Oluyede said, “Ours is to comply with the order of the commander-in-chief of our armed forces, President Tinubu.”
