The highest average diesel price in May 2026 was recorded in Nasarawa at N3,785.84 per litre, followed by Plateau at N3,576.40 and Ebonyi at N3,574.75.
On state profile analysis, it showed that Kano recorded the highest average retail price at N6,900.28, followed by Adamawa at N6,295.63 and Yobe at N6,140.17.
It said the South-South recorded the lowest average retail price per litre of kerosene at N1,273.07.
NBS says the average retail price of a litre of diesel increased from N840.81 in March 2023 to N1341.16 in March 2024.
The report said the highest average price of diesel in January 2024 was recorded in Kebbi State N1433.33 per litre.
“Lagos, Oyo, and Delta paid the lowest petrol retail price at N590.95, N592.19 and N599.38 respectively.’’
