The NAFDAC boss highlighted the impact of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope initiative on local pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Ms Adeyeye described medicinal plants as strategic national assets.
The destruction took place at the Moniya dumpsite in Ibadan.
The states are Rivers, Bayelsa. Edo, Delta, Akwa Ibom and Cross River.
Mrs Adeyeye said that 14.3 million Nigerians were confirmed as victims of drug abuse.
Mrs Adeyeye advised students to resist peer pressure and abstain from drug abuse.
Mrs Adeyeye said it was a huge landmark achievement for the agency.
According to Ms Adeyeye, the agency banned the importation of the soap into the country years ago because it contains mercury.
“Many men have died using performance-enhancing drugs,” the NAFDAC boss said.
