Ms Umar urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items to give succour to their families.
Mr Farinloye said NEMA was working with appropriate state MDAs to ameliorate the effect of the flood on residents.
He said the incident happened around 10:30 a.m., and the victim had yet to be recovered as of the time he was speaking.
He said the federal government approved the items to assist the 7,811 households to cushion the effect of the flood disaster.
He said the gesture was under the special national economic and livelihood emergency intervention to bring succour to the victims.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in Lagos received 102 stranded Nigerians evacuated from Libya.
“However, it is our candid belief that the items will help alleviate the burden currently being faced by our people,” he said.
Items distributed includes maize, rice, millet, guinea corn, noodles, beans, tomato paste, seasoning cubes, vegetable oil, cement, nails, roofing sheets and ceiling boards.
