She added that the enhanced security architecture was backed by a strengthened intelligence network.
The commissioner described the NCS as a “sister agency”, emphasising that both institutions shared a common national purpose.
Mr Anwuzia addressed the heads of the two agencies, commending the relentless efforts of the police and army in maintaining peace and order in the state.
He advised them to report such misconduct within the state.
“The ban becomes necessary due to the dangers associated with them.’’
The police boss ordered the supervisory officers to ensure adequate security before, during, and after the forthcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations.
“Most of the suspects have been arraigned and remanded in the custodial Centre, Owerri, while others are still undergoing trial,” he added.
He admonished Plateau people against indulging in any unlawful activity that could threaten peace and security in the state.
For days there has been repeated attacks by gunmen, resulting in killings, burning of houses and looting of houses abandoned by the locals.
Mr Yusuf, while commending the I-G for his timely intervention to the command, called on the officers and men to redouble their efforts.
