Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat has urged Nigerians to be patient with one another, respect the rule of law and live in harmony as Muslims celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir.
The president and his wife, Remi Tinubu, landed at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at 1:15 a.m.
“We must also pray hard for our troops to keep us safe. They are making sacrifices in the challenges that we face from terrorism and banditry today,” said Mr Tinubu.
Mr Tinubu emphasised the need for the people to sacrifice to make the nation great.
“Efforts are on to ascertain how they got the army uniforms. Investigation is ongoing,” he said.
Renewed hope is very much alive; Nigerians should be hopeful,” Mr Tinubu declared.
Mr Wahab said that some of the challenges faced by residents due to flooding were man-made.
The president directed that the “desecration of the Obalende Eid prayer ground by its profane use as a dumpsite should stop with immediate effect.”
