The issue of power rotation in the state has been a highly debated one among the major political parties in the state.
Some of the funseekers spoke in separate interviews in Calabar on Wednesday on the sixth day of the annual carnival.
The accident occurred when a Toyota Camry car lost control and rammed into crowd of onlookers during the carnival.
“I am worried about development in the state, a whole generation had been lost,” Mr Duke said.
“In 2015, as a party, we said it was the turn of the Northern Senatorial District, and we zoned the governorship to the north,” noted Mr Bassey.
“When we take over in 2023, we will start the restructuring of the country.”
“The cycle of power rotation must thus be maintained by staying with the zoning formula.”
