Mr Emberga noted that adequate funds were consistently released to enable local governments to discharge their responsibilities effectively.
Mr Agada warned that if urgent intervention was not provided, the situation could worsen.
Mr Akya said those who had served the state faithfully for decades deserved to retire in comfort, not in poverty.
The debate was led by Douglas Akya (APC/Makurdi South) during Thursday’s plenary session in Makurdi.
He urged the governor to establish more of such so as to reduce unemployment as well as the dependency ratio.
“This suspension will serve as a deterrent to anyone who wants to stand in the way of progress of Benue,” Mr Sater said.
