Customs intercepts tramadol worth N1.8 billion at Lagos airport
The gunfight between the NDLEA and the drug dealers in Edo happened on Wednesday.
The Taliban-led caretaker government issued a decree in April last year banning poppy cultivation and its processing.
The association said drug abuse and vote-buying and selling have long-term negative effects on individuals and society.
The Kwara governor expressed concern about banditry, kidnapping and farmer-herders clashes.
Mr Babafemi said a notorious drug dealer, Abdullahi Musa, wanted for attacks on NDLEA operatives was arrested on June 16 in Hong town, Adamawa.
Other items found on the suspect include 12 bottles of codeine, 14 sachets of tramadol, seven wraps of weeds, “Skunk’’ and 65 tablets of “Happy mood’’ drugs.
Several wraps of Arizona, loud and Indian hemps, cocaine, 10 gas lighters, sharp knife and N76,900 cash were recovered.
