Mr Alabo said in the gun duel, two of the hoodlums were killed and others escaped with bullet wounds.
“The troops carried out their constitutional responsibilities with utmost professionalism,” said the cleric.
The command’s spokesman, DSP Alfred Alabo, disclosed this while addressing journalists on Thursday in Jos.
“Sadly, one Nuhu Titus, a hunter who assisted the security operatives in the rescue operation, lost his life in the process.”
According to him, the criminals stormed the village and shot sporadically as residents scampered for safety.
Mr and Mrs Rwang Danladi were teachers at the BECO Comprehensive High School, Kwi, in Riyom LGA, Plateau state.
Mr Alabo said Mr Julius replaced Bartholomew Onyeka, who had been redeployed to Benue Command.
”As a result, several other people sustained varying degrees of injuries from gunshots,” he said.
According to Mr Alabo, the students were abducted on Monday night at their hostel located outside the campus.
The police said security personnel were stationed across the state to “curtail breakdown of law and order, and ensure safety of lives and property during the event”.
