He added that while the situation has been brought under control, investigation is currently ongoing.
Mr Shiisu said both suspects and the vehicle had been taken into custody for further investigation, after which they would be charged to court.
“On arrival, the team discovered the lifeless body of the man dangling from the ceiling of a classroom in an Islamic school in the area,” the police stated.
The police in Jigawa have detained a tea vendor for beating a 20-year-old man to death for stealing bread, milk and noodles in Dutse.
The police said efforts were ongoing to recover the remaining 15 passengers.
The police command in Jigawa says it arrested 82 more suspected looters and vandals of public property.
Mr Shiisu added that the command also lost the divisional police officer (DPO) of the Yankwaahi Division, CSP Muhammad Salihu-Koko, who died on Friday.
