Mr Folorunsho said an anti-crude oil theft patrol team was deployed to the area, leading to the discovery of an active illegal refining site.
The exercise, flagged off by the flag officer commanding, Chidozie Okehie, was conducted at the Nigeria Navy Ship VICTORY jetty in Calabar.
Mr Odey urged participants to promote the state as an investment.
The navy also expressed its personnel’s readiness to support efforts to address security challenges nationwide whenever required.
Mr Akinwande noted that the annual shooting range exercise underscored navy’s unwavering commitment to operational readiness.
The chairman said the quality of projects executed by the Nigerian Navy was top notch.
The Nigerian Navy has reiterated its commitment to stamping economic sabotage and other criminal activities along the waterways.
The flag officer said the navy deactivated about 60 illegal refineries.
“We will continue to frustrate their efforts,” Nigerian Navy, Forward Operating Base Ibaka, Commanding Officer, Capt. Uche Aneke, said
“We have established the fact that the vessel and her crew are complicit in the crime of economic sabotage.”
