The EFCC said suspects were arrested on Wednesday during a sting operation conducted by operatives in the Agbede community, Ilorin.
The court convicted Mr Nwabuoku on all nine counts and sentenced him to eight years’ imprisonment on each, totalling 72 years.
The defendants are being prosecuted by the anti-graft agency for allegedly laundering Kogi State’s funds to the tune of N10 billion.
The EFCC witness told the court that the complainant paid the defendant $75,000 in two instalments to facilitate the movement of petroleum products.
The controller handed over the seized pharmaceutical products to NAFDAC for further investigation.
The trial judge, Justice Maryann Anenih adjourned until Wednesday, for continuation of cross-examination and trial.
The defendants were arraigned in May 2022 but pleaded not guilty to the charge.
He explained that his administration had petitioned EFCC.
The trial lasted 10 years.
The commander warned perpetrators of illegal maritime activities to desist immediately.
