Mr Oyewale said items recovered from the suspects include five laptops, 10 mobile phones, and one iPad.

EFCC said the arrest was possible following weeks of surveillance linked to their alleged involvement in internet fraud, identity theft, and financial scams.

This case marks the latest corruption scandal to hit the Nigerian military since Major-General Umar Mohammed bagged more than seven years in prison for $3.3 million fraud in 2023.
The judge said Mr Bello’s application was misleading in its assumption that his passport was before the FCT High Court.
Mr Oyewale said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as the investigation was concluded.
The judge adjourned the case until October 21 for the continuation of trial.
