The arrest came a month after EFCC declared Ms Achimugu wanted over an alleged criminal conspiracy and money laundering case.
“It was agreed administratively that junior lawyers be sent to court today to formally take a date as agreed by parties for June 27.’’
The EFCC chairman listed diversion of funds, embezzlement, stealing, forgery, bribery among others as examples of corrupt practices.
He was arraigned on a one-count charge bordering on criminal conversion and stealing.
The EFCC spokesman said items recovered from them included six exotic cars, 16 laptops and 38 mobile phones.
Mr Sirika was accused of conspiring to award airport contracts to his daughter and allies during his days as aviation minister in violation of federal procurement statutes.
“It behoves on you, as prosecution, to do all within your power in the trial because I am not going to entertain any delay in this trial again,” the judge said.
He said that the vessel and the crew were intercepted and arrested on February 7, 2024, by naval officers.
On Thursday, the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court dismissed an application by ex-Governor Willie Obiano challenging the EFCC’s powers to prosecute him.
Embattled APC national chair Abdullahi Ganduje has secured a court order invalidating his suspension from the position and the party.
