INEC chair Joash Amupitan has warned Nigerians against registering twice during the Continuous Voter Registration.
“The United States Mission to Nigeria congratulates the citizens of Ekiti State on the largely peaceful conduct of the gubernatorial election on June 18.”
“There were reports of physical violence in Ado-Ekiti LGA Ward 9, Unit 13 in Ifelodun LGA, Ward 9, Unit 6 and in Moba LGA Unit -9, Ward 1.”
They vowed to challenge the outcome at the tribunal.
In a congratulatory letter, Mr Kolawole said that he believed power belongs to God, and “he bestows upon whoever he chooses.”
Mr Oyebanji, a former Secretary to the State Government, polled 187,057 votes to defeat his challengers.
The governor said the BVAS deployed by INEC during the election saved time and aided the large turnout of voters.
Mr Kolawole scored 98 votes to beat the candidate of the APC, Biodun Oyebanji, who garnered 13 votes.
“The military is trained for war, not for election purposes. I pray that the time will come where the military will not intervene in the election process.”
Mr Oyebanji said he was assured of victory at the Saturday governorship polls to the delight of his supporters who screamed “Iwo lokan” (It is your turn).
