The defendant is being tried on a three-count charge of attempted murder, illegal reconnection of power and breach of public peace.
This is coming five days after the national grid collapsed twice under six hours, leaving the country in darkness.
Some customers lamented that they had not received power supply from the DisCos for days before the collapse of the national grid.
The reduction has been blamed on a drop in supply in power generation from an average of 3,700MW to 2,000MW per hour.
This collapse, the second in August, is said to have been caused by a nationwide system collapse.
