The Senate passed the bill during an executive session after resolving disputes that arose from transmitting election results in real-time on INEC’s result viewing portal.

The latest confirmation runs foul of an earlier assurance by the president’s spokesman Femi Adesina that the document will be signed in a “matter of hours.”
Mr Lawan disclosed this after a closed-session of the Senate on Wednesday after Mr Buhari withheld assent to the electoral bill passed by the National Assembly.
