Stakeholders have said that intensive preventive measures are in place to contain flooding, save lives and property, and prevent further erosion in both states.
The Nigeria Meteorological Service and the Nigeria Hydrological Agency had predicted that 30 states of the federation were at risk of flooding.
He expressed concerns over the operational framework for disaster management in the country.
He noted that NEMA had already begun preparing communities to mitigate the anticipated impact of the flood, particularly as rainfall intensified.
