Mr Masa warned that selling produce early to rich merchants hurts long-term farmer prosperity.
The initiative aims to support smallholder farmers in the rice and cassava value chains, thereby enhancing their productivity.
He said more industries would encourage mass production of agricultural produce by farmers.
Mr Bello encouraged fellow farmers to abandon traditional seeds.
Mr Melladu noted that farm inputs are expensive and beyond the reach of the average farmer in Nigeria.
He added that local farmers need to create free passageways for water in their farms to prevent flooding.
“We need urgent intervention. If this continues, its implications on national food security will be severe,” the farmers said.
She commended cashew farmers in the state for their resilient efforts in spite of challenges.
“We are taking all necessary steps to ensure farmers return safely to their farms,” said deputy defence minister Bello Matawalle.
