Mr Amosun lamented that hatred, and division had overtaken religion’s unifying purpose.

The medical expert said abstinence from food and drink enables the body to detoxify itself through the liver, gastrointestinal tract and the kidney, supported by the lungs and skin.
Mr Kalu stressed that the country would be better if citizens respect beliefs of other religions.
“Christians should remember that fasting without prayer and/or reading the Word is nothing but hunger strike,” said the clergy.
“We should fast and pray to seek the mercy and favour of God, not just fasting from food but from wicked acts.”
