The Senate Committee on Aviation has dismissed speculation, stating that investigations are still ongoing to determine the cause of the Lagos airport.
The fire reportedly began about 3:30 p.m. on Monday and was contained by firefighters from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and other responders.
She said three international flights were diverted.

The brief followed a recent dispute over tariffs between the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and freight forwarders and air cargo agents.
The authority announced the agreement in a statement on Tuesday.
Mr Ganduje explained that the FAAN board was determined to improve the passenger experience and safety compliance.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria on Wednesday said all federal airports managed by the authority are fully insured.
The National Human Rights Commission has issued an advisory on the dignity of the human person in aviation operations in Nigeria.
Mr Ganduje said, “As a board, we will assist you in moving this ministry to the next level.’’
