The magistrate, Janada Balami, gave the order after the lawyer for FCT-IRS, Michael Towolawi, moved the application to effect.
The FCT-IRS portal’s dashboard showed that the FCT-IRS had collected N1.6 billion this week and N1.9 billion so far in March.
Mr Sumaila said the service would not hesitate to enforce the laws against defaulters.
“We encourage everyone to continue fulfilling their tax responsibilities as responsible and patriotic citizens. Together, we can build a prosperous future for our city.”
The failure of relevant agencies to demand and verify TCC presented by an individual could amount to sanctions (a fine of N5 million or three years’ imprisonment or both).
“Any taxpayer that buys into misguided information on filing tax returns will face the wrath of the law,” he said.
The FCT-IRS said it remitted N118 billion into the federal government coffers as of November.
FCT-IRS would be 80 percent automated by the end of 2021 for transparency and accountability.
“The only way we can continue to keep Abuja of our dream is through taxation,” the tax chief said.
