Despite paying N7 million ransom to secure his release, bandits have murdered Shila Ojebola, a Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) staff.

The association of private sector employers said VAT collected for August 2021 should be paid to FIRS.
Mr Akeredolu said Mr Umahi could say whatever he likes, that in Asaba, all the Southern governors agreed on the issue.
FIRS has insisted that civil society organisations (CSOs) and other non-governmental organisations (NGOs) are not exempted from paying VAT.
Lagos state is seeking to be joined in the VAT suit by FIRS but the latter want the court to block the application.
