A statement by Mr Yusuf’s media aide on Saturday in Kano said the order became necessary because Mr Bayero was “creating tension in the state”.
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has been formally reinstated as the Emir of kano.
Mr El-Rufai’s assertion comes days after Finance Minister Wale Edun said Nigeria recorded economic growth last under former President Goodluck Jonathan.
“I was not sent by the government…, but it was my personal initiative, using my personal contacts to get there…It is my duty as a leader to do that.”
He lamented that because of the enactment of the law, he had become a target for elimination.
