Former Governor Peter Obi has decried personal aggrandisement and misuse of public funds by Nigerian leaders.
“It is important to clarify that acts of goodwill should not be hindered by excessive bureaucracy,” said Mr Obi.
“How is it possible that we cannot feed our citizens despite the vast, fertile lands our nation is endowed with? My heart bleeds,” said Mr Obi.
Mr Obi, who led a delegation in a visit to Mr Babalola in his office in Ekiti on Monday, refused to make the purpose of the visit public.
“Will I say that we are actually paying the price for bad governance that didn’t start today?” said Mr Otti.
The opposition leader appealed to federal authorities to prioritise the plight of the Nigerian masses amidst untold economic chaos.
“I have always preached and maintained this same position that ‘Our brain drain today will be our brain gain tomorrow’.”
Ex-Governor Peter Obi has described the killing of Chike Akunyili as a sad development for the state, expressing worry about worsening insecurity in the South-East.
