Mr Abubakar explained that “no amount of propaganda, planted stories, or faceless briefings will fracture the resolve of the opposition coalition”.
“We are fully aware that the event is less than 24 hours away, and we deeply apologise for the timing and inconvenience this may cause,” said the hotel.
The presidency urged Nigerians to ignore politicians who “bungled the chance in years past, sold national assets for pittance, and shortchanged their compatriots.”
“We warn that this is economic sabotage in plain sight. We demand that this reckless borrowing plan be halted immediately,” stated Mr Abubakar.
“Today, Nigeria is a nation where the rich get richer, and the poor are punished for trying to survive,” said Mr Abubakar.
However, Mr Abubakar said what happened at the Lagos parliament “is nothing short of an assault on democracy and a throwback to the dark days of military dictatorship.”
“We can only speculate what detrimental impact Atiku’s proposed lengthy town hall and Village Square meetings would have had on Nigeria’s economy,” said the presidency.
