“So, it’s not the best time to play politics, even as the PDP is fast going into extinction,” he added.
The governor described the allowance as a part of the temporary immediate-term interventions.
The Ondo government says it has begun the process for the second phase of palliative distribution to vulnerable people in the state.
The minister said that N25,000 would be given to each of the beneficiaries to improve their spending power and economic fortunes in society.
Mr Yusuf said that the gesture was to reduce the prevailing hardship occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy on the people.
“I hear things like scarcity of forex. What is scarcity of forex, as if the world owes us any forex? The world does not owe us any forex.”
He listed the distributed food items as rice, beans, garri, semovita, pasta, among others.
“In addition, it needs to further tackle corruption because this menace had been a challenge to the nation’s economy,” he said.
The politician says agriculture provides a lasting solution to fuel subsidy removal by the federal government.
