According to him, while there are signs of improved investor confidence, many domestic businesses, particularly MSMEs, continue to face operational challenges.
President Bola Tinubu had, in May 2023, announced the removal of fuel subsidy.
Mr Yahaya said the government would disburse N8.2 billion in gratuity arrears to retirees.
“I am giving the credit to him because, while he is taking the heat for the reforms, we are taking the joy,” he said.
Hundreds of youth and women began protests in Jalingo on Thursday.
“Our concern is the ordinary people, and the damages that will be done.”
The initiative seeks to provide relief to Nigerians by promoting the use of CNG as a cleaner and more affordable alternative to fuel.
After removing the fuel subsidy, the federal government provided N100 billion to purchase 5,500 CNG vehicles (buses and tricycles).
“More difficult decisions lie ahead before Nigeria is reshaped and growing economically,” said the information minister.
He said that the fuel subsidy removal by Mr Tinubu on the day of his inauguration was a miscalculated action.
