The governorship election petitions tribunal in Sokoto has adjourned sitting until August 26 for the adoption of addresses.
The committee interacted with designated judges handling corruption and financial crimes cases on the reason for delays.
A police counsel told the panel that the matter in the petition had been decided by a court of competent jurisdiction.
The judge held that there was no express evidence to show that the governors of the 36 states consented to the filing of the suit.
The order follows the failure of the police to make available the case file in a petition filed by the victim’s wife.
The Catholic Priest said the police wrongly accused his brother of being an armed robber so as to kill him.
