President Muhammadu Buhari has summoned Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Nigeria’s security heads over continuing deterioration of insecurity in the country.
Mr Buhari had on April 30 and May 4 met with the security chiefs and heads of intelligence community as part of the ongoing “critical engagements.”
According to Mr Irabor, both militaries needed to cooperate in knowledge sharing and modalities to address diverse security challenges and promote peace and security in Africa.
“In the last three months or so, there had never been a single case of piracy recorded within Nigerian waters.”
He explained that insecurity was not peculiar to the state, saying it is a national issue.
“There is a disconnect between miners and bandits in the state.”
