Reuters accused the military of being involved in the massacre of children and other sexual and gender based violence.
Mr Sylva said that Mr Buhari had declared total war against those stealing national assets, thereby depriving the people of the benefits of such assets.
Mr Irabor made the disclosure during the fifth Stakeholders’ Meeting of Operation Safe Corridor (OPSC), on Thursday in Abuja.
He said that the military had been working with the police and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide security during the election period.
The military supremo noted that the general election is a “national exercise” that has also caught the attention of the international community.
The CDS said the security challenges in the country had been politicised.
The general said Pakistan would be a useful partner to Nigeria in its ongoing military campaign against insurgency.
The newly appointed spokesman also pledged to partner with the media.
“I want to assure you that the war on terrorism and insurgency will be won. There shall be peace in Nigeria again.”
