On Wednesday, Ondo residents and dignitaries paid their last respects to deceased Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
Mr Fayemi described the late Akeredolu as a warrior.
“He was a great achiever and legend who will continue to live in the minds of all of us,” Mr Maikyau said.
Mr Aiyedatiwa said the relationship between him and Mr Akeredolu was cordial even before he died despite insinuations by his political opponents.
The family announced the funeral arrangement in a statement.
“We accepted his death with mixed feelings. We never wanted him to go, yet we never wanted him to remain in that terrible condition of sickness,” said the minister.
Mr Akeredolu died at a German hospital on December 27, 2023, where he was receiving treatment.
Mr Alake said the deceased carved a niche for himself as a bold and irrepressible defender of the interests of the Ondo people and the Yoruba nation.
He also declared that all the flags in the state should be flown at half-mast.
