The Kano government has given contractors eight eight-month ultimatum to fix the water scarcity plaguing the metropolis.
The confirmation followed the presentation and adoption of the ad hoc committee’s report during a plenary.
The Kano State Executive Council has approved N8.5 billion for the execution of various infrastructure, health and education projects.
Gov. Abba Yusuf has expressed deep sadness over the passing of a retired military officer, Brig.-Gen. Kabir Galadanchi.
In the health sector, N344.7 million was approved for routine immunisation for the fourth quarter of 2025.
Both aides have been cautioned against parading themselves as public officials under the current administration.
Mr Yusuf said the new equipment aims to improve the efficiency of refuse collection and disposal, addressing long-standing challenges in waste management.
Mr Yusuf emphasised his administration’s priority to support vulnerable groups, including youths and women to improve their socio-economic status.
“This government will not allow anyone to sabotage this exercise,” he said.
He said that the committee found the nominees worthy of appointment.
