The embattled governor of the oil-rich state said he faced insurmountable odds in his effort to secure the ruling party ticket.
This comes months after Mr Tinubu sacked Governor Sim Fubara and other elected officials in Rivers.
He stated that Rivers people would continue to support President Bola Tinubu-led government.
Mr Nwanosike said Mr Fubara’s alleged move was to discredit and force the immediate past governor of Rivers and current FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, out of office.
The state’s attorney general, Zachaus Adango, also tendered his resignation on the same day, citing personal reasons.
