Governor Umar Namadi on Friday imposed a 24-hour curfew following the escalation of violence on the first day of the nationwide #EndHunger protests.
Mr Namadi said the state government had recruited 900 primary healthcare workers and 200 secondary healthcare clinical staff.
The Jigawa government has recruited 300 community-based animal health workers.
The commissioner said the increase is to ensure that “quality and nutritious” food are provided for students across the state.
