Ms Akpoti, who wields significant influence in parts of Kogi, described the excavation of roads leading to localities considered her strongholds as politically motivated.

The unions noted that past administrations, since the state’s creation, provided housing estates for workers, and asked governor Bello to do same.

The government accused him of taking deliberate actions and displaying attitudes that could bring Kogi State and Ebira land in particular to serious disrepute.
The governor said that voting for one’s choice remained a mandatory civic duty which should be taken seriously.
The EFCC had on Thursday arraigned Aliyu Bello, alongside Dauda Sulaiman before an Abuja Federal High Court, over alleged N10 billion money laundering and fraud.
Mr Bello said the 2023 budget is geared towards providing peace and security, improving quality education at all levels.
“We are putting the whole state on the map, real-time, virtual, audio and visual, so as you enter Kogi state from anywhere, we will see you. I won’t go into too much detail.”
Mr Bello said he remained transparent in managing the state’s resources by opening up the books of income and expenditure to the people.
