Government spokesman Stefan Kornelius on Monday said Germany would lift its partial embargo on weapons exports to Israel on November 24.
“As long as Hamas retains a hold in the Gaza Strip, it can rebuild and strengthen itself,“ Israeli officials have said.
It was reported that the Palestinian Hamas movement had committed sexual violence against Israelis during the October 7 massacre.
“We are taking this extraordinarily seriously.”
Hamas, which controls the strip, told residents to stay put and vowed to fight to the last drop of blood.
The Israeli military has pulverised the Gaza Strip with missiles in reply, with a ground offensive also being prepared – a move likely to increase the death toll.
