The PSC also approved the promotion of Danjuma Aboki and Dansabo Idi from the rank of commissioners of police to AIGs.
The approval followed “rigorous” written examinations and oral interviews presided over by the PSC chairman, Hashimu Argungu.
The PSC urged affected retirees to embrace dialogue and sustained engagement, instead of protest or confrontation.
Mr Argungu called on the federal and state governments to review the current passive and obsolete criminal justice system at various levels.
The PSC chair said extra-judicial killings, illegal arrests, searching and detention, and sexual abuses were some issues haunting the nation’s human rights record.
This followed the adoption of the report of the Committee on Police Affairs at the Committee of the Whole on Thursday.
