Seven people lost their lives in an accident on the Osogbo-Ilobu highway on Tuesday, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The FRSC said the vehicle, loaded with some goods, was coming from Makera in Niger State.
Mr Benamaisia said 25 flashpoints and eight black spots have been mapped out in the state.
Mr Benamaisia said the accident involved a private Sharon Nissan vehicle with number plate WWD574 AE lost control due to excessive speed.
Witnesses said the incident was caused by a petroleum laden tanker which fell, spilled its content and burst into flames.
FRSC says no fewer than 536 persons were involved in road crashes across the state between July and November.
No fewer than 85 people have been killed and 279 injured in various road crashes in Edo between January and June.
