On Wednesday, a Jos Magistrates’ Court sentenced an 18-year-old trader, Joshua Gowol, to six months imprisonment for stealing herbal medicine.
“Despite widespread use, traditional medicines have not yet been integrated into the national healthcare system of many developing countries, including Nigeria.”
Garba Adamu, NAFDAC coordinator in Sokoto, said the consignment valued at about N2 million were seized in markets and on the streets of Sokoto metropolis.
According to the researcher, there is no drug that is effective against the malaria parasite like orthodox medicine.
