Omar Touray has called on Turkey to step up its support to ECOWAS’s efforts toward curbing terrorism in West Africa.
,“We have not explored in our country. We have so much that God has blessed us with,” said the first lady.
The envoy said there were more than one hundred Turkish companies operating in Nigeria, providing jobs and contributing to the economy of Nigeria.
He expressed optimism that the relationship between the two countries would reinforce their armies’ capabilities through sharing intelligence.
“Since Nigeria got independence in 1960, our relationship has continued to grow without issues.”
Nigeria and Turkey have bilateral relations in the areas of education, health and military collaboration to fight terrorism and insecurity.
“This is the second of the Turkish cuisine week that will be held since last year and it was initiated by our first lady, Mrs Emine Erdogan.
The envoy pledged his country’s willingness to share its experience, technical expertise and technology with Nigeria to counter security threats.
The traditional ruler said he’s praying to God and his ancestors to abate the conflict.
