He said the effects of climate change required sustained action from governments and stakeholders.
Mr Jacob said the organisation was committed to promoting transparency.
He pointed out that the HYPPADEC was prepared to intervene in communities with serious ecological and drainage issues, adding that it was hampered by resources at its disposal.
He said the well-being of the staff was essential to the commission’s objectives of having an efficient, effective, and dedicated workforce to serve Nigerians.
Mr Bello also inaugurated 12 operational utility vehicles for the smooth operations of the commission.
