Governor Mohammed Badaru of Jigawa and Ajayi Boroffice (APC-Ondo) have withdrawn from APC presidential primary, supporting Bola Tinubu to emerge as the party’s candidate.
Mr Fayemi followed the footsteps of ex-Governors Godswill Akpabio and Ibikunle Amosun in withdrawing from the presidential primary to support Mr Tinubu’s ambition.
When asked if the party had come up with a consensus candidate, Mr Kyari said, “The discussion continues tonight at the house of the party’s national chairman.”
“We look forward to the emergence of a Muslim from among the loyal and competent aspirants from the South-West.”
Ikeobasi Mokelu, information minister under Gen. Sani Abacha, has picked the All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination forms.
